Dedicated to Helping Children in Poverty Worldwide

The mission of Joete's Playground is to provide clothing, food, educational material, and playground equipment for underprivileged children throughout the world.

Joete's Playground

Joete's Playground provides playgrounds to children living in poverty. We hire local workers to build, and often install, the playgrounds. We feel it is important to support the local economies of the areas we are serving and, by providing something locally made, the equipment will last longer and serve our purpose more successfully.

Joete’s Playground was established after Lindsay Banks, founder, volunteered in Nepal in 2007. She worked with kids that were part of a home for children of prisoners (similar to an orphanage).  The children were not allowed to play on playground equipment at the home as it was broken.  Lindsay came home with the idea to raise money to fix the playground.

Once funds were raised to  build a playground in Nepal, Lindsay wanted to continue building playgrounds and helping children in poverty.  The organization of Joete’s playground was set up to build other playgrounds and provide needs to children in poverty. On her first trip to Nepal, Lindsay met and bonded with 4-year old girl at the home for children of prisoners. Joete’s Playground was named in her honor.
